What it does
Cites sources for every answer and runs multi-step research automatically. Deep Research mode does in four minutes what used to take half a day.
When to use it
Anytime you'd normally open Google: competitor research, fact-checking, market sizing, technical lookups. The Deep Research mode is worth Pro by itself.
Bogdan's take
Perplexity replaced Google for me entirely. I still verify the sources it cites, but the grunt work is gone. If you hired a researcher this year, cancel that and get Perplexity Pro for the whole team.
